The port of Fethiye (ancient Telmessos), known also as
'The Land of Lights', lines a wide bay embraced by mountains.
Ancient Lycian tombs can been seen cut into the rocks on
the mountainside overlooking the town where life centres round the
harbour, long promenade.
There is also a network of old streets behind the
waterfront where you can find colourful markets an array of shops
selling jewellery, leather, spices and textiles.
Nearby to Fethiye, there are many local bays to discover
providing perfect seclusion in a dramatic landscape. These include
Kabak, Gemiler, Soguk Su, and the azure Aquarium Bay. The Lycian Way
between here and Kekova is a particularly beautiful stretch of the
coast and a popular route for the Blue Cruise.
