Meaning 'bird island', Kusadasi lies to the north west
of Bodrum, close to Izmir.
Now a large marina frequented by cruise ships and a busy
town with a lively beach club, hotel and restaurant life.
Kusadasi is also a popular location on the blue cruise
route with a rich coastline scatterd with hidden bays and beaches just
waiting to be explored. With several of the most important ancient
sites close by, Kusadasi is also home to a rich historical
heritage.
Thousands visit the great ruined city of Ephesus every
year, while the House of the Virgin Mary, Priene, The Temple of Apollo
and Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World are also on the
popular history trail.
Other nearby places of interest are the breathtaking
Kalamaki National Park, the pretty vineyards and town of Sirince and
the thermal springs at Pamukale.
